Lake Owners Properties at Risk

Lakefront Property Values at Risk

Wake enhanced boats stir up sediments and silt, turning sandy beaches and crystal clear waters into murky waters and mucky beaches. Resuspended phosphorus from sediments in our lakes and streams has added to algae blooms, putting property values at risk.

A 1995 survey of Maine waterfront residents found that the reasons for choosing a location to buy included water clarity (98 %), quality of swimming (87 %) and scenic beauty (82 %). Our sandy beaches, scenic shorelines and crystal spring fed waters are at risk.

Property Damage - Testimonials

Wake enhanced boats create waves far in excess of other power boats and wind driven waves damage property, erode shorelines and push muck from deeper parts of the lake onto sandy shallows and beaches.
